Veterinary Surgeon - Essex - Ref RL12896

Job Role

Veterinary Surgeon

Job Type

Our clients have an exciting opportunity for a personable and approachable Veterinary Surgeon to join their fabulous and supportive team in Essex!

They are a friendly mixed age team who focus on learning, evidence based medicine and co-operation. There is an excellent vibe through the practice and will go out of their way to support and assist the team inside and outside of work.

You will be joining an experienced and established team made up of 4 Vets, 7 Nurses, 2 VCA and 2 Receptionists. The team benefit from a variety of individual interests including certificate holders in medicine, endoscopy and surgery as well as a member of the nursing team holding an advanced diploma and ISFM Advanced Diploma.

The role would suit a Vet who is comfortable with routine surgical and medical cases but may want to seek further coaching and exposure to more complex cases. A particular interest in medicine would be an advantage but is not essential! They require Vets with a real client/patient focus and the ability to build strong, long term relationships. You will also have good time management and organisational skills and enjoy working as part of a team. They are a busy practice therefore you will thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy the variety that it brings! It is rare for cases to be referred outside of the practice and team members are encouraged and supported to work up their own cases to a high standard.

Preference is for a vet with 2-5 years of experience however, they are a flexible practice and will consider part time applicants, job shares and applicants with more or less experience. They do have the ability to support a new graduate. Salary will be negotiable and commensurate on experience and performance.

In return, our clients offer:
· Competitive salary - £55,000 depending on experience
· Enhanced annual leave
· 40 hour week, 1 in 3 Saturdays, No Sundays
· No OOHs and only occasional sole charge
· Pension scheme
· CPD funding (min. of £1000 + 3 paid CPD days + certificate funding for the right candidate)
· Exclusive colleague discounts
· Pastoral care, emotional wellbeing and support
· Paid memberships – RCVS, BVA, VDS
