Job Role

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Type

West Midlands

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Nurse to join our clients team in West Midlands. Nurses are provided with a varied day, rotating between theatre, kennels and consults shared out between the team. They are involved in their patients care, are listened to and build up good relationships with clients. Theatre Shift: They admit their surgical patients for the day, place IV lines, take pre anaesthetic bloods and get them prepped ready for surgery. They scrub into procedures where needed and maintain their equipment. Kennel Shift: The kennel shift is where they manage inpatients and receive patients from theatre. Vets and Nurses create a plan for the day, and the nurses can then feed back to the case vet throughout the day. Consults Shift: Nurses run various consults through the day, post op checks, weight clinics, blood sampling, 2nd vaccines and they would like to expand them. The Rota: Monday-Friday (7.5-8hrs a day) 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, 11am-7.30pm/11.30pm-7.30am 1:4 weekends 8.30am-6pm. No OOH! They are a well-equipped practice and have upcoming plans for further expansion of equipment. They benefit from having not only separate cat and dog wards but also separate isolation wards. Which is ideal for all patients. All wards are spacious, with mattresses, cat castles and a variety of food for anorexic patients. The theatre is well organised, easy to clean and spacious for students to watch surgery or for a scrubbed nurse. They use their endoscopes regularly and are beginning to do more orthopaedic surgery. Our clients are looking for an RVN with experience and ideally a clinical coach, or an interest in becoming one. They are a friendly team who bounce off each other. They would like a likeminded person, who shares a clear passion for providing the highest standard of care and who is friendly and approachable.
