Job Type

I am looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon on behalf of my client. The duties will include a mix of consultations and surgery but a consult only role would be considered.
The rota includes working 20 to 40 hours a week over 2 to 4 days. The hours are a mix of 8:00am-6:00pm and 9:00am-7:00pm with 1:4 weekends but we can be flexible for the right candidate. There are no out of hours with this role.
The salary is up to £50,000 depending on experience.
They are a small, family feel practice situated in Berkshire. At the practice, they have all the usual equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray ultrasound, endoscopy, inhouse lab, tonometer, and surgivet.
They have 1 Senior Veterinary Surgeon who is involved in management, 2 Clinical Senior Veterinary Surgeons, 1 experienced Veterinary Surgeon and you would be the 4th Clinical Veterinary Surgeon. Two of their vets are currently working towards a certificate. They also have 5 wonderful Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, a multi-talented Practice Manager, and several Client Care Team members. They work with the local RSPCA and Cats Protection, as well as having plenty of bonded clients from a range of backgrounds, providing a varied caseload.
They advocate work:life balance and they look after each other. Their diary management is excellent, for example some consults are blocked off for same-day release, there are limited vaccines per day, allocated admin time and protected breaks.
They are looking for someone who has some experience, since they need someone who is confident with routine consults and surgeries. There is support available for the more complex stuff as needed.
The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and someone who enjoys building a relationship with clients.
