My client has a vacancy for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. They are a mixed practice but the role is for 100% Small Animal Vet and will cover two of their practices. They are expanding and have many facilities such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, good quality dental machines, ECG, endoscope, BP machine and tonometer. TTA's and other orthopaedic surgeries are also done in house. They are looking for a permanent candidate who ideally has at least 5 years experience. Someone who is confident in their skills, proactive, personable and able to crack on with consults and surgery without assistance, bearing in mind that there will always be someone who can be asked for help and advice in the building. The position will cover a 4 day working week: 3 x 8:30am - 6:00pm, 1 x 8:30am - 7:00pm. 1 in 4 Saturdays: 8:30am - 2:30pm (no Sunday work.) Equal share of Bank Holidays (no more than 1 in 4): 9:00am - 10:00am. No OOH work On 7pm finish shifts, Saturdays and Bank Holidays there is an expectation to deal with anything surgical that cannot be transferred to the external OOH team. In this situation the vet will get 33% of the ex VAT service fee generated. No sole charge (apart from some Saturdays when a Partner could be contacted if needed) Holiday Entitlement: 5 weeks plus bank holidays; when you work a bank holiday you will be given an alternative day of leave in lieu. (The date when a day off in lieu is to be taken is to be mutually agreed with them. This is usually incorporated into their ‘Christmas Rota’. CPD budget: They have an annual CPD allowance of 3 days paid relevant CPD up to the value of £1,000 ex VAT. They would be happy to fund a relevant certificate for the candidate if the practice would benefit from the certificate choice. RCVS registration fees paid for by the Practice. VDS cover paid for by the Practice. BVA and one other subscription paid for by the Practice. Annual pay reviews Salary is DOE: £40-45k for 5 years qualified depending on experience, to £50k plus for 10 years qualified. A clinical lead would achieve £60k (this is not the same as a corporate clinical director).
