My client is looking for a night registered veterinary nurse to join their busy, friendly practice in West Yorkshire.
The role of the night supervisor RVN is critical to the provision of high standards of client and patient care in ICU and wards overnight. The purpose of this position is to work alongside all the nursing teams and veterinary staff to ensure the smooth running of surgical and medical wards and the intensive care unit. Gold standard inpatient care is to be maintained at all times. Guidance, support and co-ordination of qualified, training nursing staff and veterinary nursing assistants are important aspects of the role. Leading by example, the Rotational Team Leader should promote good staff morale and a positive culture and motivate the flexi nursing team to strive towards the Core Values with the overall goal of achieving a clinically excellent nursing standard throughout the practice. This is a full-time position working an average of 38.25 hours per week. This is an out of hours role working Tuesday-Thursday 8pm-8:15am, Friday 8pm-12:30am.
They are looking for an individual who can demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills whilst leading a small team. The RVN would be responsible for supporting the training and development of three RVNs and four PCAs.
Key duties will include:
- Delivering nursing care plans to numerous inpatients
- Nursing intensive and critical patients
- Performing handover to the team between shifts
- Displaying leadership skills
- Teaching and sharing knowledge
- Infection Control
Previous experience of nursing within an intensive care unit setting is required. Previous experience of leading a nursing team is required.
