Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse - Tyne and Wear - Ref RL11873

Our clients are currently looking for a Deputy Head Nurse to join their small animal practice. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, 5 days per week with set shifts between 7.30am -8pm. One bank holiday a year (excluding Christmas day and New Year’s Day). This role is predominantly Monday to Friday with the odd weekend cover if someone is off sick, so no rota'd weekends. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of nursing care including clinics and in-patient care before, during and after surgery. As well as nursing care there will be some admin work and helping the veterinary team get through the daily procedures. They are looking for someone who is happy to be working in a large team, confident in all aspects of surgery/medicine work-ups and be able to provide high quality clinical care to all pets. Within the nursing team we have exotic, medicine certificate holders and clinical coaches. CPD is supported and actively encouraged within the team. The practice is friendly, with good communication among the staff and in normal circumstances there would be opportunities to meet outside of work to socialise. They are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a great work ethic and excellent communication skills. The ability to work well in a team and have a passion for all aspects of general nursing are essential. The candidate must hold a full clean driving license, have at least 3 years of experience and ideally have been in a senior role prior.
